A further 181 players journeyed to the Grand Waldo Entertainment Complex for day 1B of the 2012 Macau Poker Cup Championship bringing the Main Event total to 270 runners. The HKD $20,000 buy-in tournament, which attracted 89 players in the first of the two day 1 flights, built a prize pool of more than HKD $4,800,000 for the top 31 players.
China’s Yanqin Huang ended day 1B with 112,925 chips edging out Germany’s Sebastian Benz (112,625). Day 1A chip leader Hong Kong’s Edmund Lee and his 119,175 in chips lead the 123 survivors into day two.

Other notables advancing to day two with a healthy amount of chips include Raymond Wu (72,300) and Bryan Huang (59,050) along with Denmark’s Jeppe Drivsholm (75,900). Just two Aussies – Robert Streatfield (77,025) and Jill Maley (36,650) – will progress to day two from day 1B.
